The DIRT is the shop belonging to Florine van Rees & Jeroen Dijkstra. But what once began as a beautiful selection of special items and a lovely building on the Lange Haven in Schiedam, The DIRT has since grown into so much more. From The DIRT, set designs are realized, events are organized, and unique art is created!
The talent of young and emerging designers and brands from Europe is central to The DIRT, in all aspects. Moreover, you will consistently find colour and humor in their work, because that is simply what makes the world a little more beautiful. It all started with the fact that Florine and Jeroen themselves missed a shop where you could buy unique and interesting items. They turned that void into action. They opened the doors to their shop themselves, and that quickly led to so many other beautiful things. Amazing, right?
The DIRT gives local makers and crafts a platform. fairf, the paint brand made by the Dutch Baril Group, fits into that story. Together they show how colour gives a shop, set or interior its own identity.
For The DIRT, the shop is also a creative workshop. A different wall colour and existing materials change the atmosphere each time. fairf’s broad palette gives them room to keep experimenting.
