High above the clouds

This nursery just has a hot air balloon!
For the little ones, few things are as magical as a hot air balloon. How often have you been in the car when suddenly someone shouted from the backseat: ‘LOOK!’ Such a brightly coloured floating object in the sky, which normally really is mostly just blue, is of course quite special. So how fun is it to bring this amazing vehicle into the nursery? Don't make it too hard on yourself. Pick up a brush and hand-paint a handsome hot air balloon on the wall! We'll explain how to do it…

The most beautiful colours
If you go for a hot air balloon theme, you can implement it in various elements and in different ways. But it only makes sense to start with a blue ‘sky’. For this room, the colour Olifant (Olifant) was used. Soft and calm, but clearly with a blue glow! The hot air balloon itself was coloured in a very classic red (colour: Lieveheersbeestje/Lieveheersbeestje) with cream (colour: Leon). On the other wall, the designer of this room applied the colour Ijsbeer (Polar Bear), featuring only the outlines of two hot air balloons in the distance. A nice little minimalist addition that provides both tranquility and stimulates the imagination in the nursery.

How to finish it off!
Our favourite part of this nursery is the crate of the hot air balloon, which in this case is used to store books. But if your little one prefers to send their stuffed animals on a journey in it, that's perfectly fine too! Also a fun idea: hang a large roll of drawing paper on the wall, where your child can keep drawing what the world looks like to them from above. We are already curious about the result! Are you? Finally, what you don't see in the accompanying images, but could work absolutely beautifully: place small trees and houses in all sorts of places in the room for the real hot air balloon effect. Or put a picnic basket in the room, so your mini can pretend to drink tea at high altitude with friends. We don't know what you think, but in our eyes, this room is already a hit before it even starts.Do you want to recreate exactly this mural in the nursery or playroom?
